Cliffys protectors

Just received a refund from Cliff, protectors have gone missing in transit. He said he will not be shipping to the UK anymore as refunds will make him broke, anyone else had a similar experience?
That’s not good for the uk,

That’s a shame. It was a bit of a palaver getting my lotr ones recently.
Think he uses the USPS which is half the problem.
Just got some bits from pinball life and on my doorstep in less than a week.
They use fedex.

Had a few orders from him, some unlisted and always arrived. That’s a real shame as it seems impossible to get some of his stuff and he has been really helpful.

He is a loverly guy, had a three week wait for my stuff, and fortunately it’s turned up fine, took about a week from memory,

I assumed they were shipped tracked and insured? Surely he can claim back from them no?

When did he post them ?

I've been expecting something from him since late April.

USPS is likely all of the problem, I believe they’re very good for domestic deliveries, but my experience is that they are utterly useless for shipping to the UK, last package they didn’t deliver for me sat in customs in the UK waiting for VAT/duty payment, but never informed me of this, so it was then returned to the sender, who claimed he never received it, it left me without package and about £750 down 😡

I always now ask for the use of FedEx or DHL and all has always been good.

Chris.

Interesting. I had a similar issue nearly two years ago now. I ordered a little power tap board for my DEJP, the guy sent it via USPS and royal mail took it when it entered the UK.
The tracking didn't update properly and kept changing to nonsensical things and eventually it said returning to sender due to fees not being paid . I'd never received a card or any notification about fees.

I phoned royal mail so many times to try sort it but apparently it was too late. It went all the way back to the USA and the guy sent it again.
Luckly it wasn't an expensive item like yours but so much faff. nearly 3 months to receive it.

I suspect Cliff is swamped with work at the moment ( nice position to be in ) and is having to rationalise on what he can deliver.

If its coming via USPS the package value really needs to be kept under $100 to avoid scrutiny and holdup. Once it goes over that it's a lottery with them.

Yup USPS are 💩 a mate sent me a small tracked envelope in Apr:

I ordered some protectors from Cliff and it’s taken him 2 months to despatch. Just got tracking details through Global Post saying package acceptance pending.

I thought pinball life sell them.

In which case pretty easy they ship fedex, ordered loads of stuff from them without any problems. There customer service is also great if you do have an issue. I had a strange problem with a new balrog.

I think the actual problem is if you want them cheap it's not going to happen! 😏

(Unfortunately).

Perhaps it's something pinball bizarre could stock if he doesn't want to deal with the UK, as ups in the us is really like an internal post office, cheap and works if your in America not so good if your not. Similar I suppose to Royal Mail.

Can't help with your query but I've never understood why he seems to be the only person making these types of things, what am I missing?

I could get them made if I had the drawings but I suspect he'll not be handing them over.

Ah ok, that's good to know. I got mine when I cleared out pinball life of LOTR parts so it made sense to get at the same time. I've only bought some perfect play rubbers and balls from pinball bizarre. Have been toying with the tower mod, but have enough stuff of the modded kind to fit already 😏

Cliffy shipped out my order via usps on the 6th June and it arrived this morning 😮.

The difference between usps delivery service is crazy.

Posted on the 9th June, arrived today.

One thing to remember when completing payment with Cliff is you then enter the production phase, that could be four to five weeks at the moment as he's swamped before your parts have a slot to be made.

My package then went from California to Philadelphia and returned to the same depot before despatch to the UK.

He hasn't mentioned or indicated any intention to not post to the UK.

My order from Cliff was dispatched on the 8th and arrived yesterday. Was sent by Globalpost Std International which started by USPS and came via Switzerland and then Royal Mail.
Originally ordered on 15th April so lead time really long at the moment!

Cliff emailed today to say he had made and dispatched my protectors. He made me aware at the time there would be a delay, I placed my order in april.
He expressed how busy he is at the moment and how he had a couple of people helping him but now he's back to doing it all himself and is working non stop every day.
Poor bloke sounds knackered
