OK. Given I’m bored enough to do some basic maintenance how exactly do most people clean their balls before sticking them into a game.

mine always seem to tarnish/ become dull really quickly afterwards and I suspect I haven’t got the oil fully off them and as such they pick up dirt on the way round the game.

novus 3 and a quick rub down doesn’t seem to do it.

what do other people do?

Don't use ralgex! A work mate thought it can't be that bad and sprayed his... regretted it instantly .. One of the funniest things I've ever seen...he spent the next hour lowering his plums into cups of cold water.

If they look like this time to change...

A loooong time ago after a pretty harsh breakup, my ex moved out and said she'd pick up her clothes at the weekend. I rubbed Deep Heat in the gusset of all of her knickers. She thought her new BF had given her something 🤣

Probably not the most mature thing to do, but it made me feel better.

You would of thought the smell would give it away

You buy new ones and make a sculpture (with a magnet) out of the old ones....

or I tumble the old ones and then clean off the dust from the tumbler, this makes even old balls fab again.

can’t believe you guys shine up your old balls. i just get rid and put new ones in. what’s the point in messing up a £900+ playfield for the sake of a few quids worth of new balls.

the only thing i do is demagnetise my balls every so often. £11 watch demagnetiser

If you looked at a used pinball through a microscope you would be putting new balls in your machine a lot sooner than you would have.
