Was toying with the idea of making up a run DMD style clock the other day, while looking up panels I stumbled these very cheap flexible LED panels and the middle sized version was pretty much the same size as a regular pinball DMD,
Seems like they are intended for hanging in shop windows or sticking in the back of cars, with a number of pre designed messages, plus the option to display custom text and more interestingly custom animations. Had a look around but other than a few short reviews not too much information online, especially with regards to diy animations.
Figured as it was less than £20 it was cheap enough to take a risk and order one.
When it arrived I was quite impressed, really long cable, nice bright LED's and the app, although very basic is capable of making some reasonable looking animations.
@Colywobbles very kindly sorted me a speaker panel to mount it behind, quite pleased with how it all looks.
