I'm off to Orlando for a few weeks with the family soon and wondered if anyone had any suggestions on a good pinball place OR any good dive bars with pool tables (love a good American dive bar).

We'll be staying at Universal followed by Disney, so anywhere near i-Drive between or around those two.

Cheers!

Every year! And you call me jammy!! Really looking forward to it, haven't been for a few years.

We were there last month.

There's a ratty old SpiderMan in the Islands of Adventure arcade you exit through from Dr Doom. If you want pinball then your only real option is the drive up to The Pinball Lounge at Oviedo which is worth it as they have a really good selection of well maintained machines (many Prem/LE) and it is in a bowling alley, so there's something else to do.

Down towards Disney is the Player1 Video Game bar which has good beers and plenty of old arcade machines, though take your passport as they refused to accept UK Drivers License as proof of age. Under 21s are allowed in until 6pm

Cheers @cyberkryten I know each of the Disney hotels has a pin in their arcade (we are going to be in Animal Kingdom Lodge with GOTG there I think). The Pinball Lounge looked to be a bit of a trek but might pop along if it's worth it - it did look pretty good there. I'll try the Video1 arcade too - thanks for that!

Only took us about 45min to get to Oviedo from Disney area, and you're closer at Universal.

Didn't see that one in Tampa - might be worth a trip if you're heading to Busch Gardens

Orlando sucks for pinball.

Me and the wife drove down to the pinball lounge a few times. Its about 40-50 minutes. Its in a bowling alley and they have a great selection of games but they aren't kept working well in my view. They had some of the latest games but every one of them had something up with it, some minor things a couple of major. But the downer for me was they played music so loud in the lounge you can't hear yourself think. Not sure I'd go again but maybe they've got their act together and have started to look after games given what Martin posted.

The best place to go is the Replay Museum. Its a 2 hour drive (but a nice one through St Petes and near clearwater, so book a nights stay over there, its lovely. Patrick AKA Owlnonymous from Twitch is near and he streams from there a lot. Skylar who is one of the guys who runs it is a really great guy. Really recommend it. They have some fantastic arcade games too.

There were i think two or three in the arcade in AKL last year... All of them with faults which made them all unplayable... Will see if i can dig a pic out...
I did report them, so hopefully they should be fixed by the time you get there..... :D

Orlando sucks for pinball.

I normally get out to Orlando around once a year and have to agree with Neil here. I've heard that The Pinball Lounge is decent and have considered visiting, but I've never got around to it. I'm honest I'd rather spend some more time in the parks / relax by the pool with a couple of beers than drive 40-50 mins each way. I've always thought that a proper pinball bar would do well at Universal Citywalk but that may just be me.

Every Disney resort does seem to have one sorry looking pinball machine in the arcade, and the arcade at the Contemporary normally has three sorry looking machines. They don't seem to be looked after in the slightest and I wouldn't go out of your way.

I'll be out there again next month so do let us know if you find anything.

Will do - more likely to find a fun local bar I think - as long as it has a pool table. All Americans think they can play pool but I haven't come across many who actually can. Love the vibe in a dive bar with a beer, heavy rock music and friendly yanks...

+1 for the Pinball Lounge. Went late afternoon while there last year and it was quite quiet. All the machines I played were in great condition and turned up so you could actually hear them.
Most other pins I have found are normally pretty ropey in the resorts.

I was in Animal Kingdom Lodge in December and there was no GOTG there. It was a Tron and Stern POTC. Both in pretty poor condition to be honest.

I don’t know of anywhere else in Orlando, but if you want to stay at my house, play pinball and I will go Orlando instead.

Thanks @JAG555 I appreciate the offer. I could stay at mine for that though and I reckon it would be a bit cheaper too . Not sure the kids would see it the same way though...

Well, the offer is there...... :0) Have a good one! Animal Kingdom Lodge is awesome!

Last time I went Disneyquest in Downtown Disney they had a lineup of modern Sterns. If you have Disney Park tickets. think you'll get Disneyquest entry included.

I'm still hoping to get back soon.. maybe next year... Had plans for this year (October), however will deff o looking for the same time next year for the Haloween stuff, and if timed right the first of the christmas stuff which opens in November :)

Disney quest games were ****ed but they were set on freeplay. Had a go on them and you couldn't play them. You would have thought better of Disney really.

Was just about to put up a thread similar to this. I think we should do exactly as suggested ans gather up intelligence for the location of pins in Orlando.

I've not been since Halloween 2017 and planning a trip for next year so I wanna play some pinball!

TheTimTracker on YouTube just put up a video about Dave & Buster's Arcade on International Drive. He didn't show if there was any pins there but being a massive arcade I'd bet theres probably at least a couple.

D&B don't normally have pins. Unless that's changed in recent years. They have pretty much the best pool tables made though...

No pins in D&B.

The Austin D&B is testing P3s (Multimorphic are based there).
