exactly that Daz. When I’ve got one, it’s top of the chop list. As soon as it’s gone I want it back

I bought mine off my Dad in ‘93, it was the only pin I owned for the next 20 years. I now own 18 pins but Fish Tales will still be one of the last to go, just love it so much. The rules are really shallow yet it’s still incredibly addictive.

Iffy art. Iffy theme. Iffy sounds. Where are all the modes that most games have ? The rules are really simple BUT if you do not know them you can keep the ball alive for ages and hit as many target as you like but you will probably achieve very few points.

You have to light so many of the key shots before you register any meaningful points for hitting them, and many of these are only available for a limited time ...

Light the right spinner
Light the captive ball, which itself is a risky shot
Light the left spinner
Light the jackpot

There are times when one or other side of the boat ramp shots is pretty irrelevant. Similarly with the stand-ups

Back in the early 90s, I had no time for it. Addams came out around the same time and simply wiped the floor with it.

However, I bought a cosmetically nice but dead game with the intention of doing a spit and polish job then selling it after a couple of months. It has been my most played game ever since.

The rules are fairly simple - though actually offers pretty much similar to other games of the time like BSD and WH20. And certainly offers more variety than T2.

I kind of think of the Boat awards as akin to WH20s Boulder Garden awards/modes.

I like you are working the boat awards, catching fish, working the Monster Fish and telling lies... whilst all the time deciding best time to start the Multiball. And then the Multiball is multi staged, over multiple balls if necessary, towards the Super Jackpots. Challenging.

The music is love or hate. But I think the sound effects are ace - nailing the Feed Frenzy fish probably my favourite sound, the deep bassy 'chomp chomp chomp' [emoji16]

Some nice dots too. And def one of the best video modes.

It's just ace.[emoji106]

This was the machine in the nineties that hooked Mrs Tox into playing pinball, she had the top score on the table in the pub for most of the duration of its stay.
It’s also the first machine we brought for our house and is at the moment undergoing a complete strip and refurb (which is taking too long due to real life getting in the way).
It will not be leaving our house, not on my watch.

Finally put a colour dmd into my FT and though whilst I had a camera I'd show it off. Imported for Italy about 8 years ago, it's obvious the love for this game in how it's been treated prior to my ownership. The previous owner must have been an artist with no idea about replacement decals so the whole cab has been meticulously hand painted, along with the rails and even the lightning flippers. Leds were ghosting when I got it so @Paul sorted me out a rom to fix that, added invisiglass, love this game, never going anywhere!
