woah I didn't see that one coming but can attest to the legendarinessitude of the Skynyrd, they so totally rock, dude

this is a live version - skip to 6:50 to see them in full force doing it live .... especially from 8:25 .... epic craziness right there for a full 5 minutes of screaming crazy guitars through til the end ......

though the studio version is even better in many ways - rockin out starts at about 4:50 in this one, but it's not as freakout as they're probably aware of the equipment and e need to get it down on tape .....

oh and of course

and it's late Tuesday as I post this, so

plus

oh, and I did I mention

What !?!?!?

Where was this announced ?

I kind of approve , if true .......... who doesn't air guitar the sh*t out of Freebird

EDIT - this isn't true, you're drinking right ?
Drinking? More like smoking

The amount of times I had to listen to that overrated ******** in my youth. 'Hey, let's put freebird on' 'no, let's not' ...... music starts

someone mentioned about doubling the superjackpot shot by pulling a tremelo arm next to the flipper button for an awesome sound effect and a bonus score. word is getting out there. I can feel it in my waters. it's that or this ole poison whisky

Not sure if this is for real but nevertheless it's baited me to say something I've been thinking a while

Why are all band pins based on pretty much the same genre ?

Surely not all pinball fans are (post) middle aged overweight band tour t-shirt wearing folk?

Ok scrub that then

What about the next gen of pinball owners?

Or weirdos like me who don't but like AC/DC, GNR or anything similar and who dreads them making a queen pinball ?

I know we'll be in the minority and it's all about shifting units but let's have some out of the box thinking .

We could have a 'ska' or 'reggae' pinball not just based on the one band

Or even a britpop pin where blur and oasis battle it out for supremacy only for the wizard mode kicking in where you have to get Jarvis Cocker to kick Michael Jackson in the face

Not gonna lie, a Queen theme would be excellent.

To answer the question of why the repeated genre - Stern makes its money not to arcades anymore, but to private sellers. They know their market, after all, who has disposable income - certainly not younger people (who am I kidding, I'm part of that group.) - and a fondness for pinball... certainly nobody under 20 unless their parents indoctrinate.

Other than Elvis, are all the music pins bands? I can't think of another solo artist who has a pin based on them,

Would love to see a Meatloaf pin, although they'll need to crack on if they want to time it with his passing. He's starting to look really ill recently.

So, there are artists who have their own pins, then there are bands...

The who. X2?
Kiss. X2?
Metallica.
Aerosmith
Please continue...

And then bands and artists who feature on pins...

Jimi Jamison "I'm always here" -Baywatch

Carlene Carter 'Every little thing' -Roadshow

Daft Punk on Tron? Does that count? Anymore?

In the Pinside thread about this rumoured pin, I posted this - shame not to share it here as well:

I prefer Skynyrd over Aerosmith all day long
However anytime I hear "Free Bird" I always think of Jenny going through that weird coke whore phase on Forest Gump.

me 'n' Jenny was like peas 'n' carrots ....... I know what you mean with that scene, but nowadays Freebird also reminds me of this scene from the brilliant film Kingsman, that probably hardly anyone outside of the UK ever saw, as it's about an English working class boy getting educated in the Oxford-007-gentleman-spy way by posh English gentleman spy Colin Firth. in this scene, the baddy (Samuel L) is testing out if his phone SIM card feature can turn on violent aggression in people from a distance ...... the answer is yes, yes it can. recommended film, very tongue in cheek.

Just drank lots and then decided to jump on the fake news bandwagon. Everyone's at it

The more I looked for old Skynyrd classics, the more gems i found. Freebird has been one of my go-to tracks for guaranteed tears-on-cheeks-with-pleasure wigging out, ever since I first heard it over 30 years ago. Like Stairway; I am the Resurrection; Wish you were Here; Family Affair; Sympathy for the Devil; etc etc etc

If by my drunken thread whoring I can even turn a small number of people onto the majesty of the Skynyrd then it's time well spent.
