Has anyone had Marco/ Planetary Pinball goods delivered to a friend in the US that are then sent on as a gift or equivalent?

Ages since I have bought anything from the US and don't know what the best way of doing it is these days

Thanks

Not had anything sent to a friend in the US, but I used Marco the other week and got my package in 3 days. It was super quick.

What is the whole tax/ import duty thing these days please?

I haven't purchased from Marco, but bought the flipper cooling fans from Vic - Pinmonk.
He couldn't find a way to ship them to the UK, so I had them shipped to my sister in NY (FOC) and she then forwarded via USPS, no duty charges and took less than 3 days.

Top of my head, I think paid around $50 to $60 total for the shipping, tax/import. Obviously it would depend on how much you spend.

That’s the good thing about ordering from Marco, you pay for everything at the checkout so it avoids all the usual delays and you get it within a few days.

Add what you want to the basket and go through to checkout. It should tell you the total.

Unless the value of the shipment is over £135 the sender now has to charge VAT and then pay it to the UK government. That is why some overseas suppliers won't supply UK now. Marco is working through a third party who sort out the vat side I think. If the shipment is over £135 there is no change to the previous situation, ie parcelforce stop the shipment at the UK border and collect the vat and any duty from you

Marco fantastic, everything is calculated at the checkout, you can then make the decision if you want to order. Items generally arrive in a couple of days, once it came in two days.

It might appear expensive, but the reality alot of stuff only they have :)

Over the past couple of months I must have had 10 shipments from them.

He couldn't go to the post office or book online UPS, FedEx, DHL etc.

Some Americans are so facking lazy. I've had the same issue.

In Vic’s defence the system he uses wouldn’t give him an option and prompts for a UK Tax ID. He does not live close to any of the places you mentioned.

Dave what are you after - I’m placing an order with Marco for delivery to me at INDISC first week of February - if it’s something I can stick in my case happy to do it.

Neil.

Maybe worth paying FedEx Priority..
Less hassle? Do you think there’s less chance of getting hit with a charge the way they clear customs?
I received some study materials recently via this shipping method and no additional charges??? Is this just a case of not everything can be checked? Who knows…..

That’s an interesting one with Marco.
You pay everything up front which is cool as no unexpected surprises.
But there is always the chance with other vendors, you may get lucky and slip through the dragnet so could work out cheaper.

Yeah I see what you mean, but on the flip side using Marco and knowing you can get a delivery within 3-4 days I’m more than happy to pay that extra. I suppose it depends on how much you are spending and also if you are happy to wait.

To be honest I have purchased from several sites in the US and have had no issues with delivery and tax.

Received a delivery from little shop of games (Miami)
USPS - 7 days total
Zero tax or additional fees — nice

Could do with a thread l is listing which shops ship here and any experiences with the fees.
Europe too.
I just ordered from Ministry of Pinball and it's currently in customs. I hope there isn't a charge as it wasn't much!

I order from marcos quite a bit and have never ever received the parcel as quickly as some o you guys have said, no matter what shipping option I choose. 2 weeks on from my last order and still waiting, perhaps I'm just unlucky. I am very greatful of them sorting their shipping charges out though as not too long ago the cost was so rediculous it wasn't worth ordering from them

Just received a new ramp from Freeplay40 on pinside. He uses USPS.

He charged usd 30 postage of a fair sized box. It took about 16 days to arrive.

No UK admin, customs or VAT charges.
