Bargain on Pinside - Supreme!

I like the comment that it looks like a coke vending machine on its side.

Wasn’t someone here trying to buy one when they were first released?

What is that crud, I think I'm going to spray paint a stern playboy 2000 change the interchangeable lady pics to Versace logo's cover the plastics with the lion motive and put a lovely 1 of 1 plaque, think I might be on to a winner 🤭

They were silly priced from new IIRC, so not surprising it’s at an even sillier price now. It’s only of interest to a Supreme collector.

the game isn't a disaster, its not 100K for sure but its not shocking.

some nutter will buy it though and think they have something special.

its like the clowns selling digital ownership nonsense.

Isnt it just a spiderman with all the theme removed and supreme logos added, so not so much a crap game, just a **** theme.

Its almost like the people behind the Supreme brand are just trolling the people who actually buy their stuff, its not like they have put any serious time into the logo, and I think someone forgot to scale the cabinet decal.

Not sure which is more bland, this one of that one that custom one that was done for some company in America, cant seem to remember which one or find any details on it now to compare, thought it was Target or Fedex.

Same thing happened with the Arcade 1Up Mortal Kombat earlier in the year, exact same cab made to look crap with the supreme logo plastered all over it and then charged twice the price for it. It sold out really quick but looked like most of the sales were to scalpers hoping to profit off the idiots who buy into the supreme brand as they started appearing on ebay before they have even shipped out at twice the original asking price, or 4 times the retail price of a none supreme 1UP MK cab.

This one doesn't seem to be a re-liveried Spiderman, @Fantazia2. I looked at it to see why the Elwin reference, which I'm afraid I still don't get. I take it this 'New York' variant is the same treatment of an Elwin game.

The way things are going across the pond, some dick 💦 will snap it up .. lol
Walloper measuring contest in Jackbar later after the purchase no doubt drinking a few Miller lite

I saw and played this in the flesh at Sunsine in Brooklyn. I just couldn’t understand why the fook anyone in their right mind would pay 50k for this but after a little research I found there’s people who actually buy lots of there crap soulless merch for much more.
It’s a crazy world we live in.

What Artwork?

In my ignorance, I'm only aware of Keith Elwin by mention here. It's my understanding that he's a prominent young designer.

🤣🤣🤣💩💩💩
And I have no idea what this 'Supreme' brand even is.
Someone's gonna get mugged

I did a bit of research on Supreme when this first came out, as far as I can see the whole brand revolves around a slapping the logo on any old tat and charging many times what its worth.

Seems crazy to us, but thats kinda the appeal, unlike buying a 100k Range Rover where you get 100ks worth of engineering, it signifies to others your a person with enough cash just to waste on something everyone knows has no real world value.

In other words a complete dickhead

I think its a retheme of the home version of Spiderman not the Pro/premium which makes it even worse value if that's possible
Well it depends, I had a look into what it actually was, it originally sold for 11,000 from the supreme shop around 2018. There was a Christie's auction where it's estimate was 30,000 to 40,000, so not a bad return 🙂 I personally don't get the supreme brand, but there business model of strictly very small runs of stuff,, goes for stupid money in the supreme collectors aftermarket. It appears to be like some sort of trading club, where the talking about it, buying a pair of boxers a morrisy grumpy picture with supreme written under it is like a badge of honour. Quite a clever business model, the actual product isn't that expensive, but the fact they only make 20 of them makes it stupidly desirable, I suppose it's similar to the plastic dolly's that are big in Japan, they make 500 of them, 520 people want them, the 20 people inflate the perceived value 🤪

There sure is some genius level marketing behind the whole thing, like you say the really silly prices are on the second hand market.

People fight and queue for a chance to buy anything limited release so they can flip for profit and the whole thing creates hype and drives demand for the normal range of bags, shirts etc.

Wish I had thought of it.
