I have a 1975 Bally wizard. The flag bells at the top are not ringing
Most of the others are working. I think it's just the star buttons.Don't lubricate solenoids !!!!!!
Very, very few items in pinball machines require lubrication. Lubrication tends to attract dirt and gum up. Pop bumpers, slingshots, flippers .... they are all designed to work for years with zero lubrication at all.
Rather, take photos before you do anything. Dismantle mechanisms and thoroughly clean them. Post photos on here of what you discover and we can advise how best to proceed.....
Go one mech at a time if you are new to all this. That way you can easily retrace steps
Do the other game sounds work properly?
Many problems are caused by damaged or dirty mechanisms/ switches
Autosol metal cleaner ?
Isopropyl alcohol ?
New solenoid sleeves ?
Mushroomed plungers ?
Mushroomed coil stops ?
My husband us going to work on it again today. So he should take out each mechanism separately after taking pictures & clean each one? These are the mechanisms in the bottom Of the game after opening it up, correct? Most of the others are working. I think it's just the star buttons.
