I've Just finished building my first replacement LED display for the incredible price of £9!!! I could probably get the BOM price down even more if I bought in bulk quantities.

If there's enough interest I'm more than happy to order and build them for anyone who is interested? I would charge £15 per unit or £70 for 5 displays

A comma version is in the works, but will cost more.

Features:

- LED, no high voltage

- can be dimmed

- dot enable/disable

- 6digit and 7digit version available

- 7 digit displays can be used in 6digit games (together with 7digit bootleg rom)

- Simple one PCB design - no more solder flex issues with the old two board design

Nice,so I assume they mount out of the original metal brackets?

Just tested one of these 7 digit displays in a Harlem. I was concerned that the 7 digit display would look strange in a window designed for a 6 digit display. But it actually fits perfectly and looks excellent. For the money, these are a fantastic offer from @8bit-1up 👏👏👏

comma 7 seg digits are hard to find. well at least for me i’ve not found a reasonably priced one

I’m having the same problem Alan - Alibaba is the cheapest I’ve seen so far at $0.30 each, but you have to buy in large quantities of 500-1000+ In order to hit minimum requirements.

Do you think the displays will bleed light? I see other types come with a foam surround? I am keen for a few sets as long as you will post to New Zealand.

yes i found that same supplier dgkinley on alibaba but they were just too awkward to deal with, so i dropped out of trying to order from them. Plus i didn’t like the “dot, comma” thing on their display. I though i’d easily find another supplier with a proper comma but alas no. Well not yet anyway. I’ve looked at part numbers from other people who have made pinball displays with commas, and none are stock parts. it looks like those folk spent heavily on having their displays custom made. again dgkinley will do this but they wanted $1,200 up front to make the mould!

For my displays i’ve gone with the 2 board plug in design. it’s a straight slide in swap for the old display then, looks nicer i think than the lisy designed all in one board, and, no screwing.

I think your LED displays look amazing! Super chuffed for you Alan. Can’t wait to see your next project 👍🏻

I’ll hopefully have some pictures of them mounted on Thursday.

I’m more than happy to send them to New Zealand 👍🏻
