Arcade Club Blackpool

I’ll try and ask my neighbour tomorrow at school drop off, he works at the Bury one, our kids are in the same class

Not been yet, but seen a video of the pins there:

JJP Guns & Roses
Rocky & Bullwinkle
Super Mario Bros.
Twilight Zone
Judge Dredd
Class of 1812
Junkyard
Black Rose @replicas

Think may go sooner rather than later in case maintenance of pins is like Bury.

Why do places have this attitude?!

Surely it benefits them to have pins that play well and people can enjoy? Or do they not realise how much maintenance goes into a pinball machine?

Do they have their own people?
The other week I found a Star Wars pro, in an arcade in Yarmouth.
It was in terrible condition, had never been touched since new. The playfield was so black, most of the art was obscured, and nearly all the rubbers were perished.
I did have a chat with the owner, who was sitting in the change thingy.

I said surely if it was made a nice playable machine, it would take more money.
He said no, they take sod all money anyway, not worth the cost to maintain them !

I’m tempted to go back and make him an offer tbh, poor thing needs saving, as it’s future is not bright

The main problem with Arcade Club pinball machines is they are just out in the main arcade on free play, so they get hammered by kids. They used to be in an adult only area and were slightly better then.

But even then they could all easily be cleaned more regularly, the ones at Bury last time I went were so dirty! A clean is not complicated!

Early Fathers' Day prezzie for me today was a day at Arcade Club Leeds with my daughter - pins were in surprisingly good nick compared with my Bury experiences (MM, dunno if remake, TAF, BM66, WOZ & IMDN). WOZ only had 1 red slipper on flippers, and RAINBOW lights weren't working, but the targets were registering

This one is being managed by Gaynor's son I'm told. I'll go once and hopefully the pins will be decent, working and clean at least for a while.... If not and/or they get worse, like Bury... I'll not be going again.

Venue and video arcade is good with cafe and bar but pins are in entrance area, all but one dirty/scabby and most don't play well. Two were switched off. Only GnR was clean and playing well.

Worth going if the vid arcade is your thing but not if just for the pins.... unless you really need to play a GnR.

I like that the pins are in the entrance area - Keeps the noise down from other games

Sad that they were not prepared better for the opening

I will give it a go though just to see for myself

Thanks for the reviews

Checked out Arcade club Blackpool. They have done a great job with the place overall. G&R shot well enough but was too light and drowned out with the background noise. As it was the first time I’ve played it I only played a couple of games as want to play it in a better environment. The other pins looked a bit meh but cannot really comment as didn’t play

but……. they have a ice cold beer by taito

Absolutely fantastic. I’ve wanted to play this forever and it didn’t disappoint . It totally kicked my **** over a couple of pints

I literally want to go back right now and resume where I left off. And I will be doing just that soon enough
