I want to buy a set of "Pinball Sideblades" from them but their old reviews seem pretty poor... anyone ordered from them recently who could share their experience?

There are a few threads on here about it. I've ordered from them a few years ago and was happy with the service and quality, but recently there are reports of issues with orders and delivery, and if they even deliver to the UK anymore. I personally wouldn't order anything from them unless I got reassurances from others that the problems have now been sorted out.

Evening all not usually one to post issues, I know Peteb no longer heads up the site he was a legend, never had any issues always been fantastic, ordered a DMD skin on the 4th may still not arrived, sent 4 friendly messages to see if there was an issue delay etc no response at all from any...

Retro Refurbs

Not sure who looks after their site but it appears to be hacked. Every time I go on it and click on the menu I get redirected to dodgy sites.

Not sure about these guys at Retro Refurbs.

I was looking at an alternative designed Bond Translite design on pinside. Retro Refurbs have stolen it from the creator (at a lower resolution) and are now selling it.

Hi Ian,
Long time no see ! Hope you are doing ok.

Retro Refurbs i have used on a number of occasions over the years. The quality i have never had any issues with . Over the last couple of years the level of communication has dropped dramatically and you have to push and push to get any kind of updates. More and more i was getting excuses for each and every order being delayed. I am not the only one to have experienced this. My last order earlier this year was for a set of Star Wars Episode One side blades. After several weeks i gave up and asked for a refund which they did. Bizarrely enough they then sent a set but it was getting on for two months after the original order. If you have to wait that long you tend to lose faith you will ever see your order so for me i will never use them again. A pity because they were good. I don`t know about the non shipping to the UK issue as myself and a couple friends have had orders processed in the last couple of years and the UK thing never surfaced.

I suppose if you are prepared to wait and wait and wait for updates you will likely get a quality product eventually !

I bought a replacement translite for Bond. Quality was poor with white marks and more light shining through than original.

Complained and never got a response so did a successful chargeabck. Would strongly recommend to avoid.
 
Translite wise I use Xianek, just be aware Poland shipping to UK is dire. I've had stuff take upwards of 2 months to arrive.

Ask to ship via DHL or Fedex or something if you want fast, but might be more far more expensive.
 
Since it was sold by the chap in the UK. Has gone down the pan big time.

Plus the last couple of things I did order were not the best. The translites seem okay with old fashioned lamps - but not so good with LEDs.

@xianek is best for translites. Agree with that. Never had a time issue. He keeps you in the loop and if you tell him you need it fast - he does his best to sort it.

lol omg I just cringe at people queing at that place thinking about the hygene that is hilarious that you remember that van of all things :D
 
And me (Kebab van at Wickes in SDN!)
Along with the Two kebab vans in Central Bracknell (one on Longshot lane) and the marginally better one (evenings only) by Wickes/Homebase on Western drive....

By far and way now the best.... Muzzys on Ash Ridge Road (By Aztec West, north Bristol). 5* hygiene rated :)

It was ok, I would go to the Swedish meatball van in Rushden in the morning then if I got back late to Swindon I would get the kebab.
Then there was the horny weed smoking daughter next door (20’s) who put a note through my letterbox, I was renovating the house amongst other things so was my base Monday to Friday for 3 years or so. Swindon was great😁
Then there‘s The Kingsdown pub that was on my road 🍻 Had some good times.

Yeah back on topic🫣
