3 Brits went over but unfortunately although they did well in the classics, none of them qualified for the finals in the main comp - Rich Mallett missed by a hair's breadth with 25th in B division (24 go through), and David Mainwaring @alchy and Peter Blakemore @Moonraker missed out by a little more in A division.

A finals are now down to the last 8, with Bowen Kerins and Daniel Acciari both just knocked out.
these are the last 8 -
Andrei M, Zach S, Robert G and Kevin B (2 go through)
Keith E, Cayle G, Jim B, Jon R (2 go through)

the games to be played on are WCS, DM, IM and WH2O

I am a saddo, but not sad enough to watch this

What does interest me though is the machines. Demo Man and WCS are both at the cheap end of the wpc era games. Wh2o isn't a top rated title wpc title either

Just goes to show that if these games are fit for the best players in the world, there is value in these titles
 
They were playing Last Action Hero until a quirky slam tilt occured (much to Bowen's distaste, he had to play his 3rd ball as a new game) They do generally play games from all eras, and it really is quality viewing. Some of the best players in the world and some really close games
 
They are on LAH now, was hoping to see some Flash Gordon and Genesis action, but it's not looking likely. I love this stuff
 
Keith Elwin and Zach Sharpe have got to be the favourites, just ahead of Cayle George, but i kinda think it may be autistic Robert Gagno's year. i hope so.
 
I'm loving that Jon Replogle is in the mix, good player and really nice guy, would be awesome for him to make the final from that group. Would be amazing if Kevin did it, in last nights qualifying he actually only got in in 24th position based on the result of the very last game of the night. He's the best Tetris player in the USA and hadn't really played pinball up until 2 years ago!
 
And Robert is just awesome, his skills are amazing, watching him on Iron Man was amazing, the way he was up and over post passing like it was nothing was insane
 
Iron man now, check out Robert's skills!! Keith is out, along with Andrei, so that's 2 past world champs out, would be awesome for a new player to do it
 
Cayle was even better on the earlier game, he drained intentionally after he got past Robert's 30M score. these guys just keep on getting 3M super jackpots one after another
 
Yeah that game was amazing, the way Daniele cracked out 5, 3M supers in about 3 minutes and still lost, just awesome play
 
So final 4, Zach, Robert, Jon and Jim, so we will have a new world champion which is awesome. Zach and Jim have both won Pinburgh but never a World Championship.

Ed Robertson is joining Bowen and Andrei in the booth, commentating on the final. He's from Bare Naked Ladies, big pinball fan
 
Oh my!! Zach has picked Flash Gordon for the final game of the final!! The only time it's been played all day, amazing drama
 
Great stuff. So glad Robert won. Perfect little epilogue to that film coming out soon.

The size of poker tournaments exploded after an amateur outsider took down one of the largest poker tournaments in the world. It made great TV and encouraged loads of people to take up the game. I doubt this would have the same effect, but if the film is well produced and can find an audience beyond the pinball community... could be great
 
Completely agree Steve, thing of beauty. Also some of the action on Harlem Globetrotters from Robert Sutter and some of the other top players was just awesome to watch. Amazingly skilled and such a great game, I remember a few months back people questioning the game on here, take a look at these videos, it's a cracker
