John,
I have an 2005 audi a6 estate. I know it isn't the same as what you asked for but theoretically it should be bigger?
Anyway my lw3 didn't fit in it... had to take the head off. Tread carefully!

I love an estate but I’ve had to take head off to get them in all of them! Octavia, superb & e class

E Class estate is the only estate worth buying if you basically want a van. The boot is ****ing ridiculous. R Class is massive too and a bit of a wildcard.

I picked up a TZ years ago in a BMW e46 estate, pretty sure I didn't remove head, but remember having to tie tailgate down, then getting stuck in traffic on m25, & feeling bit odd because of exhaust fumes. Only saw after I'd unloaded pin, that there was sticker on tailgate warning never to drive with tailgate not fully closed:tut:

I had to beat a pin into a kia ceed estate recently (a sys11 too so smaller than a wpc i think).
had to pull the carpets out and every thing to get it in and still damaged the roof liner.
But once it was through the hatch there was loads of room.
The hatches on them are getting smaller and smaller.

I test drove a brand new e-class estate a few months ago - it WILL NOT fit in a std sized pin, e.g. adams, IJ, MMr etc. I tried they have made them smaller and smaller every revision.

I nearly bought one just before christmas but then we had problems with drunk kids vandalising cars so didn't bother. You're right though, they are getting smaller and smaller. 140 litres less space in the latest boot. That's a strange design decision.

pin won’t go in a 2010 e class estate S212 unfortunately had to take head off
