OK Just installed a prottype Afterglow GI board into my TAF and now seems to be working OK.
Had a couple of issues due to the prototype status in connector rotattion and a supply smoothing issue but now looks like its working fine.
Paul also has a prototype pcb so I'm sure will let you know of his findings.
I think when this has all been tested on other peoples machines across europe there will eventually be a run of boards.
I and probably Paul will let you know when that happens.

One question to TAF owners out there.
I have just noticed that the circle of led's behind Morticia and Gomez flicker slightly when not in game.
Not noticed this before. Is that something seen with incandescent lighting?

Theres no flicker on any other section just this bit.
 
yep . Theres a circle of led where the ligting section is and it slightly flickers.
No other GI on the back box or playfield flicker .
 
Ok looks like work in progress :) one channel flicker dickery

Will keep you all updated on the progress.

It's probably an error on this board. Early days.
I think it may be noise due to the high current switching.
I've sent the designer a dump of the debug data.
 
Wouldn’t mind a few of these too. Sounds promising.
Do you know if he is doing another run of the Afterglow boards?
One of mine had a fault and died, gutted. Defo would buy another lot though.
 
Ive asked about the Afterglow nano boards and no plans yet for another run.
There would be if the demand was there.

Have you tried resoldering the fet pins?
Also I think one of the IC's can go. I will check the thread and see if theres any info on that.

It originaly had one column of lights out so took it out and checked what I could, put back in and the green led comes on then just goes off with nothing working.
Tried in 2 machines with same issue, like it’s not booting itself up. No red led lighting just the green for a second or 2 then nothing.
 
Its still in prototype stage.
Onlly a few boards made.
I have one and Paul has the other . rest are in Europe i think.
me and a few others are testing and ironing out some issues.

Soon as the design is finalised then they will make a run.

I'm guessing that the cost will be in between 30 and 40 euros.
Could be less if the amount made go up.
 
Do you know if they're planning to make the final version a plug and play solution? i.e. providing all the cables needed alarm GI/LED OCD?
 
Can someone confirm that only the playfield GI fades in game on the TAF
Also that the backbox GI only fades in test mode.
 
I've never seen the backbox GI do anything other than be fully on (or blinking where said bulbs are installed) during gameplay.
