Hi all - I searched here and in the German Flippermarklt forunm but no joy.

I have recently finally installed Afterglow boards inrto my STTNG & TZ machines. THe default serttings for the Afterglow Config program are glow duration 140 - I am guesing Milliseconds?

I got the afterglow boards to removem Ghosting - I am actually fine with the instant on and off nature of the LED'S. Does anybody know how to change the config If I set the glow duration to 0 does this mean no fade effect?

also for STTNG - do IO need ot do anything sopecial to make the shields dim or is that automatically working?

I haven't used the config program for nearly two years. I only know of it working with the older Arduino afterglows. Can you hook up the newer ones and use the same program?

My experience of it was mixed, it's very much a trial and error affair.

If you're able to, change some settings of two inserts next to each other to the two extremes and you'll soon see what the values do.

I'm pretty sure 0 is like a non afterglow led, no smoothness.

What is the shield on STTNG? if it's inserts just use the default settings if you want it to fade. I'm not sure what you mean.

Hi David - in STTNG there are 3 "Shield" lamps - they are normally full power but when the battle more is on they dim in steps based on game interaciton - with LED's you lose this effect. I am pretty sure that the afterglow board brings back the functionality and I can text it tonight anyhow.

I guess you are right I will just play around with the settings on a couple of bulbs and see what i like. just wondered if anybody could shortcut the work. I have 1.3 versions of the Board with an arduino - bought them a while ago and was too lazy to fit them - had a wwf royal rumble taking up all my time trying to fix it.

They should dim as intended with a h afterglow. Unless they're GI.

I imagine they are like the villain inserts on Spiderman which are supposed to dim according to your progress but people ruin this by putting LEDs in.

I had afterglow in STTNG and I think I had incandescents in the shield inserts as they don’t go through the insert Afterglow board as controlled by the GI.

Right.. Damn will check this weekend - I also have an afterglow GI board that i have been putting off doing because I need to build the cabling and buy a ribbon cable...

In some games if I had to pick I'd pick afterglow GI over inserts. The GI effects are amazing on many of those WPC games.

Can you get an Afterglow GI online? I could do with another.

I fitted an OCD GI board in Cirqus Voltaire and the difference was massive, that game does so much dramatic dimming on the GI.

need to get a GI one for WH20, i suspect it will make a big difference. They are out of stock at the moment.

Is there a repisitory of "default" or "standard" settings that people have? Failing this, would it be a good idea for us to have something here? We could use this thread to collate... I know these are only "text" files, however would be good to be able to load one in that someone has had close and then "fine tune" to be able to get what we prefer....

@Paul I get the impression afterglows aren't commonly used and even then the settings are good out of the box (unlike ledocd).
So I think you'd be hard pressed to get many contributions.

I think the different versions of afterglow have different options or can't all be customised? ( I've never found any documentation for the later version without the Arduino)

All original afterglow INSERT LED boards are supported by the config tool. I am not sure about the "AG revisited" and other forks. I suspect they will not work with the tool.

The default 140ms is a value I derived from observing the behavior of incandescents.
