Addams Family switch problem

morning .. another question I'm afraid! I'm getting an error ..Addams family, check switch 42 (R on grave). the switch seems fine, where do I go from here? thanks

What do you mean by the switch seems fine ?

Have you tested it in the test function and in gameplay ?

I thought the press enter bit when the error came up on start up was test mode? I'll look again and see what happens in play mode, thanks

It registers if you flick it forwards (the wrong way) but doesn't if you push it as if the ball hits it

Sounds like target has been bent too far ‘in’ and is making the switch contact all the time.
You should be able to gently bend it back out . May find it easier if you unscrew the target from underneath the playfield. Power off.
Though it may be time for a new switch if it is very fatigued .
