Some talented Dutch guys have made a working Magic Girl - loads of hardware changes as well as software. Incredible work.

This is a fascinating story.

Guy do you know if they've posted logs about the work anywhere?

Hey pin friends . I am Eric from the video and yes we did it secretly. We could have announced it three years ago , but what if we didn’t succeed or whatever fiasco . So we announced it now , after we where sure about if we could get the software in that shape it worked . Stil we find small bugs but that’s not a big issue annymore. More cosmetic.

If you are interested in more info , let me know , i can tell about the 60+ changes in the hardware .
We added missing switches, lights , flashers, mech . Bad power suply , bad p_roc ( home made zidware) . If you did put the power off all the coils fired and the fuse could blown … that kind of sh&t did gave us worries.
I read or hear from you if you want to know more
Eric

I guess the big question is… what next? Can we expect to see someone making a working MG in the future? Like a very special limited run or something? It’s still a very beautiful machine with a curious place in pinball history. I wonder after all that’s happened if there is a market for it. I’m sure the super rich collectors would be in the market for these. Even if someone just bought up all the existing MGs, made them work and sold them at ‘Super CE‘ prices, I’m sure they’d be bought up.

Really impressive work. Did you guys have any input from John when working on it?
No , and we didn’t want to ,also , because it could only give problems with Deeproot.
No we just looked at the game and made a study about how it had to work and what was missing . On Facebook there was once a group who contacted Jim A. And he shared a lot of info . Al that info was enough . We had a bonus because in the US we found a MG with a HDD on wich was the source code .
That was a turning point , we had from that moment the key to solve some mayor program errors

For the question whats next ……. For now nothing . Can there be new MG build ? Yes and no . Technically it could but several parties have to be involved. And who owns the rights , the IP . We have only a problem solution but no developing parts for playfields etc .
I also have a normal dayjob so where do we find the time

Now how do we get this to Daventry in August 2022?
Well …. Bringing a MG to the UK is posible… but what about customs , you left the EU 😂.
I don’t know if there is a MG in UK . And if there is one , a KIT installed is not something everybody can do . But who knows at that time …..keep in touch. You can find me on Facebook, eric bartels or at pinballprofessionals.nl
