These are no longer available at GPE so the future is not looking rosy for early SS pinball repair. :(

Anyone got a stash of the above for sale or trade?

These are mostly double what GPE were selling them for. What is Big Daddy's shipping prices to the UK like?

I think the thing is, if GPE can no longer get these, then the prices will go up and up and up.

I'm looking to score a bulk deal right now but not at those prices, oit would be cheaper to make adaptors to use modern components that I already have.

That's more like it. 10 for the price of 2 at Big Daddy!

Wonder if there are clone 5101's?

I have very good stocks of these chips mostly NOS os tested working pulls. The 5101's I have are NEW Philips chips.

There is no shortage of them. I use them mostly in my replacement Bally & Hankin MPUs but can help if someone needs a few.

I've decided to go off at a tangent and I've ordered a few FerroRAM chips to build a sample 5101 replacement, the parts should be well under a tenner and it's a totally battery free solution with modern components.

I made a bunch of these for 5114 chips (as fitted to Robotron and the like) 10 years or so ago which are still working.

The Russian 6800 clones turned up today and seem to work fine. I will give space invaders a good workout over the weekend to ensure they are 100%.

I can't believe that someone is selling used 6800, 6821, 6810, 5101 on ebay at £10, £7.50, £6 and £6 respectively PER CHIP plus £2 P&P!

The clone 6800's work out at just over a £1 each shipped (when buying 10) :-)

Hi Dave,

Glad they worked out ok for you. Nothing like a bit of old school reverse engineering :)

Cheers Jim
