Found it! #4-40 Nylock nut - 1 tiny hex nut needed

Sods law - turfed out my box of nuts/bolts/screws ....can I find just 1 of these .... Nope :(

It holds on R2D2s head on so quite important :D

Anyone have 1 or 2 knocking about ?? Its the smallest of the lock nuts used on machines I think.

Will pay 1st class postage etc Cheers

I've recently done a load of parts orders so loathe to make up another just for this. Its the smallest of the lock nuts used on machines I think. Can only see them from Hong Kng on ebay. Cant see them on RS.

I totally forgot to get back to you, I don't have any either sorry mate. Need to put in an order for nuts, bolts and screws I seem low/out on almost everything
 
Well this was weird - so I took the R2 motor mech down to our local Nuts And Bolts Store https://www.namrick.co.uk/ to see if they had a 4-40 nylock to fit . They pulled faces because it was American imperial size. Anyway he didn't have 4-40 nylock nut but he did have #6 size to try.....which I have hundreds of at home and they were too big.

Anyway blow me if his #6 didn't fit and do the job. :D

So who knows ...but R2D2 has his head back on now :thumbs:
