“Four fried chickens and a Coke “ The Blues Brothers pinball

My boy turned 18 last week and picked it for his birthday movie!

All those years brainwashing him with my favourite music and films has paid off.

Glad you like it @Will2.0 :)

As I said it was my dream theme, it's a film and culture that is just part of you. And this machine doesn't sit right with my soul

As Elwood once said

"You may go if you wish. But remember this: walk away now and you walk away from your crafts, your skills, your vocations; leaving the next generation with nothing but recycled, digitally-sampled techno-grooves, quasi-synth rhythms, pseudo-songs of violence-laden gangsta-rap, acid pop, and simpering, saccharine, soulless slush"

This what this machine says to me especially the soulless slush artwork

I was lucky enough to go to the first ever Blues Brother Con in Joliet Prison, seeing Dan and Jim play in that frigging prison was a dream come true. The whole day was surreal.

.

I'm sure the core code is but I can't believe the bits ypu can change ar or it's the death knell for home mods.
Four fried chickens and some dry white toast not withstanding, I doubt the owner is conversant with c++

Havent look all the way through it but the code is here if you want to look through it - https://github.com/RetroPinUpgrade/BluesBrothers

You can change audio sounds quite easily by replacing the WAV files on the SD card on the sound board

Adding additional sounds means going through the code and changing the references to which sounds to play, like currently I think the slings have a reference for their own sounds but code currently links to a drum sound

A lot of the code does use sensible wording though so you can search for things like sling and drop to find the relevant routines, but they may make sense to me as I used to code.

I haven’t even considered attempting changing stuff yet i probably should look into it as I would really like to swap out some of the songs and I also would love to add some different sound bites and change the majority of the sounds to Bally 80’s sounds like target hits and spinners
Anyone wanting to volunteer I will reward you with great cash rewards as let’s be honest I am never ever going to get round to doing it myself 😂

Feel free to ship it to me and I'll sort the sounds for you. 😁

In all honesty though if you want to make an image of the sd card from the sound board and pass it over and a list of what songs and sounds you want changing I'm happy to have a look.

Don't worry @Will2.0 Martin is dropping off GnR and a suitcase full of cash and collecting BB for me! 21 epic rock tracks await!:clap::clap::clap::clap:

A note for anyone wanting to play with or change sounds and music in Blues Brothers pinball. It is SUPER easy but the sounds/audio must be recorded with the following attributes:

A micro SD card formatted as FAT32 and a maximum of 32GB, sounds/audio recorded as WAV files, 16-bit, 44.1kHz, in stereo. This is the same specification as CD audio.

We use a free program, Audacity as it has lots of general support and is very easy to figure out, did I also mention it's FREE!! It does this job perfectly.

That sounds great Mike although you'll have to make it even simpler for @Will2.0 to be able to use it! 🤣

Super excited that my custom artwork has become and actual reality. Huge thanks to Mike at homepin for printing and helping with this alternative art project. My good Buddy Dal aka Dalbongo is a super talented artist and has worked on creating this new translite , even more cool is that we are both now working on continuing this style across the playfied and also creating new plastic artwork.
There is so much detail in this new translite see if you can spot some of them ..
