I am aware this might be the loneliest thread since the GTF thread 😂
But the excitement for this pinball is on another level.

Since getting into this madness there has never been a theme I have wanted more than this ever (well maybe an oasis one )

Never thought there would be one made and so many times I have thought about making a re theme just to get a BB table. As there was no way this game was ever gonna get made , until Homepin stepped in and to my mind solved the problem.

It would be impossible to license this movie what with the fact that most of the celebrities are dead and the amount of iconic music , I know a bit about licensing and couldn’t begin to think how much it would cost to do.

The idea that homepin have had to license Jake and Elwood and the car and have the software completely open source is genius.
I spoke to Mike at great length about this software and it’s capabilities and it’s kinda limited only to your imagination, add call
Outs , sounds and music tracks as you see fit also the ability to change the rules and scoring.
He is really excited about this game.

There is off course the argument that if stern or JJP or spooky or anyone had done it , it would be better and maybe so but look at the cost and let’s be honest it was never gonna happen.
This pinball is priced so well , and I genuinely hope that it ignites a bit of interest in the pinball world. I know a few folk here and on pinside have had issues with the way homepin answer responses but to be fair they have had a lot of stick and very little support, and I can kinda tell from talking to Mike that he really just says it as it is .

Anyways who cares who makes it we have a
Mother flipping blues brothers pinball about to be born into the world.
I can’t say I have been this excited since I fully paid up for my predator now that didn’t end too well , this I am a million percent confident will be all fine :)

Fully paid up and can’t wait Anyone else with me??

Thunderbirds was embarrassing and crap, Spinal Tap was embarrassing and crap with added unexplainable geometry issues.

This will also be embarrassing and crap.

I have a few dream themes I would absolutely love, and if homepin made any of them I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole at £4500 or under with the quality I've seen come from the games released so far.

It’s a tried and tested layout , it’s gonna play like an old EM I am not expecting it to play like your boyfriend Jack dangers games.
I really enjoyed my time with the Beatles which was a great fun little flipper kinda hoping for something similar. There looks like some interesting little bits going on.
And talk about crap geometry you own a tron 😂
My mate has a thunderbirds and he genuinely enjoys it still, I like it as well.

Don’t worry Oli your dream theme “ Male sauna “ pin will happen one day xxx

Awaiting for Mike to tell us:
1 - How spinal tap is not embarissing and crap.
2 - How homepin was not embarissing and crap.
3 - We do not know what we are talking about.
4 - Thunderbirds are worth more now than when made and are collectable.

Jamie has a thunderbirds still, the one he got via me when I sold the last 3 from PH stock:

MOST thunderbirds were sold for way under retail price here in the UK.

It is not impossible to license something where people are no longer with us. People have 'estates' that look after this, or their rights have been sold on by the estate.... and the artists do not own the music in a film usually.

Sorry Will but I think you are going to be disappointed my friend. I can not see people wanting to buy it from you. Yeah I know you say 'this one is forever' but it wont be. You are like me, things do not last long in our households pinball wise. I was saying to Dave Bishop if I ever owned a Big Bang Bar - I would enjoy the ownership of it for under 12 months and then sell it on.

Good luck fella.

Thanks mate I get what you saying but lately I mostly look at my few games now and BB as soon as I paid for it I made my peace that it’s with me forever. I have been slowly reducing the amount I have in pins as I just don’t have the love as much as I used to , for me it’s still about the hunt.
If I buy something I need to know I have an exit plan , this wasn’t the case with the BB
I don’t think you can understand how much I love this theme.
I couldn’t re theme a pinball for the price that this is at for one , and for two I wouldn’t know where to begin lol

Need to find someone who can print custom graphics onto plastics now as want to add some extra bits in from the movie onto the plastics

So, you are capable of coding this, yes? If not are you hoping someone else does? That takes people to own it and actually spend time doing so on a fairly crappy layout.

Honestly I'd see it easier to make this from scratch, have exactly what you want with the assets and rules as you want them.

Philip I still can’t change a bulb after 25 years of pinball ownership … a scratch build isn’t for me mate 😂
I know some Australian tournament player has a machine and him and his mates are adding bits to it all the time…. Can I just add again it’s THE BLUES BROTHERS!!! 😎😎

Having played This is Spinal Tap and Thunderbirds, I can report that both were hilarious to play...

I approached Thunderbirds with rock-bottom expectations and it was better than I thought, albeit in a kind of 'what was this person smoking when they designed this layout?' sort of way. The Thunderbirds 2 and moving target were genuinely fun. The weird central ramp that didn't do anything was also a classic feature. However, I was most intrigued by how, if you made a shot into the swimming pool area, the ball dropped through the playfield into the cab.

This is Spinal Tap was also a memorable experience, this time because I played in a group at Pinfest, and the pin was so catastrophically bad that it crossed the so-bad-it's-good event horizon and became an instant classic. Whether it was the insta-drains SDTM, the incomprehensible ruleset, or our total inability to shoot the middle ramp (later, a third flipper was added), we collectively had the hilarious pinball-trauma-related bonding experience of a lifetime - never have I laughed so much playing a pinball machine.

If Blues Brothers are anything like these other pins, then you should hold a BB launch party with lots (and LOTS) of beer and friends with a sense of humour. You will all remember that night forever, and be able to dine out on it for years to come.

All the above just makes me more excited for what could lay ahead 😂

Sounds like it’s gonna be a fun unboxing party at mine then 😝
there has been many catastrophes here of getting new games in and hating them so much they are sold the same day, I always had a clear exit plan with those ….. blues brothers doesn’t require that as before you flipped a pinball Vee I have been waiting for this license I am fully committed to being the life long owner of this pin.

I enjoyed thunderbirds , Tap I didn’t … was looking forward to that one as well.

Just been buying a load of these little cool police cars to super glue onto the game 😂😂

Just trying to help a friend not waste money.

You saying it is a keeper is like Hitler saying he doesn't want to invade Europe. The fact is you will sell it and take a huge horrible financial loss where your Predators pre-order turns out to be the better of the two deals.

To be fair, it depends on how much space @Will2.0 has. Last time I went to Medway Pinball Club, @mission65 has Jetsons and Thunderbirds available to play and - to be frank - I'm delighted they are. I had a good time playing them. They're rare. They're unusual. They're a talking point. It's brilliant to have the opportunity to give them a try!

However, I'd need to own a lot of pins before I'd add them to my 'forever' collection...

It's very much 'do you have space to have a brilliantly-themed pin sitting about not being played that much because it simply isn't very good?'

😂😂😂
Mate it’s done I am fully paid up , you buzz killing twatnugget 😂😂
Honestly I am all good with it , it’s a pinball machine it’s the blues brothers…. That’s all that matters.
I lost every penny on predator i would like to think that if it came to it I could get £50 on eBay so it can’t be worse than predator.

Zero space 😂😂😂

Yep. Spinal Tap was awful.

BB?

Positives -

Someone will create good code and share it - they always do.
Stars 2.0 is a decent layout.

Negatives -

Flippers need more juice! Original Stars 1978 has way more power!

Who knows this may work out and be a keeper:eek:
